Pastor Greg Albert
I was born and raised in Columbus, Indiana. Three vocations have driven most of my work experiences throughout my life: teaching, preaching, and coaching. I have enjoyed multiple combinations of these for the last twenty years. I am a licensed teacher in the state of Indiana for middle and high school social studies. I coached cross-country and track for eighteen years but am currently taking a break to be a supportive husband and father. My wife Sarah teaches high school art and is a girls’ basketball assistant coach. She is a gifted teacher, coach, and artist, and she brings many spiritual insights to our family and congregations. We are so grateful for our three, spirited kids who enjoy running, baseball, basketball, Legos, Mario, Star-Wars, swimming, and guard! I have been blessed to have had great teachers, coaches, and pastors throughout my life that have shaped and formed who I am as a preacher, educator, and person. Family and faith are important to me. I love history and theology, especially early church history, and am excited to have the opportunity to be back in God’s word preparing sermons each week. I also enjoy backpacking, kayaking, fishing, cycling, and swimming. I am excited to rejoin St. Mark’s Lutheran Church as a pastor again! I joined St. Mark’s as a member in 2003 and as pastor from 2008-2017. This congregation is filled with good people who love the Lord and seek to do His will. B.A. Butler University M.DIV.
